Explanations and solutions for frequently encountered errors.

Login Errors

"Invalid email or password"

Cause: Credentials don't match.

Solutions:

  1. Check email for typos
  2. Verify you're using the correct account
  3. Try password reset if unsure
  4. Ensure Caps Lock is off

"Account not found"

Cause: No account exists with that email.

Solutions:

  1. Check the email address
  2. Use the email from your invitation
  3. Contact your administrator to verify your invitation
  4. Check spam folder for original invitation

"Account locked"

Cause: Too many failed login attempts.

Solutions:

  1. Wait 15 minutes before trying again
  2. Use "Forgot Password" to reset
  3. Contact support if still locked

"Session expired"

Cause: You've been inactive too long.

Solutions:

  1. Log in again
  2. This is normal security behavior
  3. Check "Remember me" for longer sessions

Permission Errors

"Access denied"

Cause: You don't have permission for this action.

Solutions:

  1. Check your role allows this action
  2. Contact your administrator for access
  3. Verify you're on the correct page

"Unauthorized"

Cause: Your session is invalid or expired.

Solutions:

  1. Log out and log back in
  2. Clear browser cookies
  3. Check if your account is still active

"Forbidden"

Cause: The action is not allowed for your account.

Solutions:

  1. This action may require a higher role
  2. Contact your administrator
  3. Review the User Roles guide

Data Errors

"User not found"

Cause: The requested user doesn't exist or was deleted.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. The user may have been deleted
  3. Check the spelling of any search terms

"Team not found"

Cause: The requested team doesn't exist.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. The team may have been deleted
  3. Check your current team list

"Assessment not available"

Cause: The assessment isn't accessible.

Solutions:

  1. The assessment may have expired
  2. It may not be assigned to you
  3. Contact your administrator

Action Errors

"Unable to complete request"

Cause: The server couldn't process your request.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh and try again
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Try again in a few minutes
  4. Contact support if persists

"Changes not saved"

Cause: Your changes weren't saved to the server.

Solutions:

  1. Check internet connection
  2. Click Save again
  3. Don't navigate away during save
  4. Refresh and re-enter changes

"Operation timed out"

Cause: The request took too long.

Solutions:

  1. Try again
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. For large operations, wait longer
  4. Try during off-peak hours

Limit Errors

"Seat limit reached"

Cause: No available seats on your plan.

Solutions:

  1. Delete inactive users
  2. Cancel pending invitations
  3. Add more seats
  4. Upgrade your plan

"Team limit reached"

Cause: You've hit your plan's team limit.

Solutions:

  1. Delete unused teams
  2. Consolidate teams
  3. Upgrade your plan

"Rate limit exceeded"

Cause: Too many requests in a short time.

Solutions:

  1. Wait a few minutes
  2. Slow down your actions
  3. Contact support if automated

File Errors

"File too large"

Cause: The uploaded file exceeds the size limit.

Solutions:

  1. Compress the file
  2. Split into smaller files
  3. Reduce image resolution
  4. Remove unnecessary data

"Unsupported file type"

Cause: The file format isn't accepted.

Solutions:

  1. Check supported formats
  2. Convert to accepted format
  3. For imports: Use CSV or XLSX

Browser Errors

"JavaScript required"

Cause: JavaScript is disabled in your browser.

Solutions:

  1. Enable JavaScript in browser settings
  2. Disable extensions that block scripts

Server Errors

"Something went wrong" (500 errors)

Cause: Server-side error.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Try again in a few minutes
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Contact support if persists

"Service unavailable" (503)

Cause: The service is temporarily down.

Solutions:

  1. Wait a few minutes
  2. Check our status page
  3. Try again later
